Topic: The original Highlander movie deserves to be remade

cornballer:

Personally, I am for a reboot, not that I’ve heard of one being planned or anything.  It is an interesting concept that has a lot of appeal on many levels.  I know there were several sequels and a TV series, but I didn’t really follow them.

Discuss.

I neither really understood how Christopher Lambert managed to ruin his career after Highlander with somehow random, uninspired 08/15-productions, nor how they could ruin the entire Highlander-franchise. But perhaps the word franchise says it all. The movie was unique, so was the cast, the soundtrack rocked, story told - done. Asbeforementioned in recent discussions I’m not a purist when it comes to cinematography, as to my understanding the very nature of the medium is trivial, will be trivial and should remain trivial - like Victorian Playhouses performed Shakespeare’s and Marlowe’s works as an affordable and accessible entertainment for the masses, not for a sophisticated elite. So yes, let’s give it a try. Make a new one. Try to make it better. A task not too easy, taking in account what the did to Total Recall.

Go ahead. As long a Justin Bieber isn’t in it.
